King’s Church supports the work of the UK Christian charity Just Care (charity number 1063998). Our major support goes towards the work of the Wellspring Children’s Medical Centre in Kamutuuza, Uganda. This medical centre, which was developed through Just Care, opened in January 2008, providing practical, physical, emotional and spiritual help to sick, deprived village children. The aims are to provide affordable, accessible medical care to thousands of sick children thus providing them with an improved quality and quantity of life and hope for the future. As well as supporting the financial needs of the medical centre itself, King’s Church also provides support to children registered on the Wellspring sponsorship scheme for sick children, named COIN (Children with Ongoing Illnesses in Need). For the past 2 years King’s Church has been responsible for the collection and shipping of containers of medical and health and hygiene goods to Uganda, through a project named Operation Uganda, based in Frodsham. A third Operation Uganda project is planned to begin in September 2010. The contents of these containers provide essential medical equipment and health and hygiene goods to the Wellspring Children’s Medical Centre and to Kitovu and Masaka Hospitals.
